Please congratulate junior Elyse Puckett for winning the District Optimist Club Competition on Saturday with her speech, “How the Best in Me brings out the Best in Others”. She was awarded a $2500 scholarship and will advance to state competition in June.
Lunch will not be served in the cafeteria on the last day of school, sack lunches will be available for students to pick up outside the cafeteria. Students sign up for a bag lunch today during lunch.

The West Plains School District recognized, Jay Hale, an exceptionally skilled and passionate educator, as the 2016 Educator of the Year. The West Plains High School/South Central Career Center Agriculture Science instructor has taught in the West Plains School District for 13 years.
The Missouri FFA Association Named Cole Henry of the West Plains FFA Chapter as Area 13 Star Farmer at the 88th Missouri FFA Convention. Henry is the son of Brett and RaDona Henry of Pomona, Mo. His advisors are Jay Hale and Tonya Jedlicka.
Congratulations to the FCCLA Culinary Team who recently competed in state STAR Events.
Congratulations to Zizzer track senior, Chase Riley, cleared 7'0" in the high jump at the Southwest Baptist University 3rd Annual Bearcat Classic. The 7'0" jump was not only a personal best but also a new school record. Riley also took 1st place in the competition.

West Plains Schools recently received outstanding results on the annual school bus inspection program conducted on March 9th, by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Overall, 100% of the 30 buses owned by the district were approved on the annual safety inspection.
