Literati will be meeting after school, Monday the 5th, in room 205. This will be a writers' workshop, so bring something you have written to share with other readers and writers--stories, poems, or the beginnings of a book. See Mr. Schilmoeller if you have any questions.

The 2014-2015 Ridgerunner staff was recently informed by the American Scholastic Press Association, a national competition, that it had selected it as FIRST PLACE WITH SPECIAL MERIT winner, recipient of the Outstanding Theme Award, and Outstanding Story award for Mason Thompson’s article entitled “A True American Hero.”
The West Plains High School Zizzer softball team presented a check to the Ozarks Medical Center Foundation at the September 21st game against Kickapoo. The money was earmarked for OMC's Cancer Treatment Center and was raised from t-shirt sales during the Zizzer Pink in the Park Event held on September 10th.
he West Plains FFA chapter has been recognized as an outstanding chapter in the 2015 National Chapter Award Program from the National FFA Organization.
Community First Banking Company has donated over 250 Personal Checking Account kits to the West Plains High School personal finance class. The kits teach students how to budget, write checks, and maintain a personal checking account.
The West Plains High School Senior BETA club recently appointed 13 students to the BETA Council. These students will have leadership roles in the club.
The Steve Waggoner Invitational Cross Country meet was held at the Willow Springs Municipal Golf Course in Willow Springs last Thursday. The top 5 finishers in both the boys and girls races were from West Plains.
