Zoe Cook, a third grader in Ms. Gobel's West Plains Eementary class, submitted an original story with illustrations, titled "The Snowland", to the PBS Kids Go! Writers contest. (April 25th, 2013) The third and fourth graders at West Plains Elementary took part in the annual "MAP Boot Camp" on April 19th in preparation for MAP testing. The students participated in relay races, scavenger hunts and brain teasers. This one day event features questions for preparation of both math and communication arts, while engaging the students in physical activity and a fun event!

Students at West Plains Elementary School who sold at least 20 Major Saver fund-raising cards were awarded a ride in a limousine to a pizza party celebrating the completion of a successful sales campaign. The students at the elementary raised just under $3,000 for the school.
West Plains Elementary will host summer school for grades Kindergarten through 6th grade beginning May 28th to June 20th, Monday through Thursday 8:00 - 3:00pm.
