The West Plains School Board of Education Names New Board Member & Elects New Vice President
The West Plains School District is proud to announce the appointment of Courtney Beykirch as the newest member of the West Plains School Board of Education and board member, Cindy Tyree, as the newly elected board vice president. Beykirch & Tyree will fill the seats recently vacated by Bo Pace who resigned from the board in June after announcing his retirement in April.
Beykirch has more than 20 years of experience in executive leadership and service on the boards of private corporations and not for profit organizations, including participation on several educational committees for the West Plains Schools, MSU-WP and Drury University. Beykirch’s background also includes a heavy emphasis on financial management and fiduciary oversight. Beykirch said, “I recognize the value in developing partnerships among various groups to achieve common goals. Additionally, I am skilled in identifying opportunities to leverage internal strengths, and managing operational functions toward better outcomes, all of which may be additive to the board’s collective expertise.” Beykirch is the mother of three children, students at the West Plains High School and West Plains Elementary.
Tyree has served on the West Plains School District Board of Education since 2004. She has lived in West Plains since 1979. Tyree, along with her husband Lynn, own and operate a cattle ranch and Tyree’s Fertilizer. Tyree serves on the West Plains Education Foundation Board, is a Missouri School Board Association delegate for West Plains and serves on various committees for the West Plains School District.
