The West Plains High School boys golf team captured fourth place with a total score of 644 in the Class 3 state championship held on May 13 & 14 at the Sedalia Country Club. The West Plains Middle School Vocal Music Department had a successful spring semester. The 6th grade choir and the 7th & 8th grade choir received 1 ratings at the Lebanon Junior High Choral Festival in March. In April, the 6th-8th grade Boy's Chorus and 6th-8th grade Girls Chorus competed at the College of the Ozarks Music Festival. Each group received a 1 rating. The West Plains Greenhouse contributed $2,500 to the West Plains High School FFA "Raise the Barn" campaign. FFA students and their supporters have begun a fundraising campaign to build a new agriculture science facility that will give hands-on experience to the more than 200 students who take agricultural science classes at the high school each year.
