The West Plains Middle School Vocal Music Department had a successful spring semester. The 6th grade choir and the 7th & 8th grade choir received 1 ratings at the Lebanon Junior High Choral Festival in March. In April, the 6th-8th grade Boy's Chorus and 6th-8th grade Girls Chorus competed at the College of the Ozarks Music Festival. Each group received a 1 rating. (Apri 23rd, 2013) It was a memorable morning at West Plains Middle School today as the West Plains School District Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Julie Thompson, and the West Plains Middle School Principal, Dr. Scott Smith, surprised Erica Walker with the announcement she is the 2013 West Plains Schools Educator of the Year.
